The ‘Telling Our Stories’ team at the University of Lincoln was funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) under the Connected Communities research programme. We are a multi-disciplinary team, providing support over a 12 month period to community projects funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) All Our Stories programme. The HLF projects are investigating aspects of their community heritage. We developed support in collaboration with community projects, tailoring workshops, individual consultations, training sessions and visits to the needs of projects as these arise. We have established a forum for exchange of ideas across projects so that learnings and outputs can be shared.
‘Telling our Stories’ built on our previous work funded by AHRC, ‘Looking Back for the Future’, which set out to work with community groups for young people. The present work focused on supporting community groups and involves adults, children and young people.
‘Telling our Stories’ enabled access to a range of academic expertise and resources at the University of Lincoln, via the members of our team plus associates. The ‘research team’ page gives a flavour of the expertise and skills which we have to offer.
